What are Dermal Fillers and what are the benefits?

Dermal fillers are injectable soft tissue substances which are injected into the dermis of the skin. Dermal fillers has the following benefits:

  • restoring lost volume and gives youthful fullness to the face
  • volumizing, plumping and lifting up the jawline and cheeks
  • filling up thin lips and sagging skin
  • removal of “bags around the eyes”
  • strengthening of sagging earlobes
  • reducing the depth of the lines between the nose and the mouth known as the nasolabial lines

What can patients expect?

The two most commonly used forms of Tissue Fillers are either Hyaluronic Acid or Non-Hyaluronic acid bases. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in our bodies that helps to add volume and hydrate the skin. The gel-like substance is injected into the areas of volume loss, giving an immediate improvement in the appearance of deep wrinkles and facial folds, and so a more youthful and radiant appearance. The result of a single treatment is immediately noticeable and can last up to a year. Lips will be redefined and fuller, giving you a more desirable mouth.  Non-hyaluronic acid fillers, use a gel suspended with calcium hydroxyl appetite crystals.

Is it safe?

Slight redness and swelling may occur at the injection site, but most people can go right back to their normal routine. You can reapply your make-up immediately, so no one ever needs to know you have had anything done.Hypersensitive reaction to Hyaluronic acid is rare. However, do not hesitate to contact your Specialist should you have any other side effects as all skin injection procedures carry a risk of infection, even in the most stringently clean environments.
